Other toursim-related attractions in immediate proximity include the oldest state part in the country.
The Center is programmed to contain five distinct elements:
- 32,000 square foot exhibit and concert hall
- 10,000 square foot ballroom
- 5,000 square feet of pre-function space
- 18,000 square feet of International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) certified, state-of-the art wireless technology business center meeting place
- 12,000 square feet of retail space including plans for an array of first class, diverse food and beverage establishments
Governor George E. Pataki announced the grand opening of the new Conference Center Niagara Falls on June 23, 2004. Work began on-site in September 2003, and the ten month timeframe from acquisition to ribbon-cutting has been nothing short of remarkable. The Conference Center held its first event on May 21, 2004 and booked over 100 events scheduled through 2008, with 25,000 room nights booked.
USA Niagara estimates that the Center will generate $13-$19 million in annual direct spending on local hotels, food and beverage and transportation in the region, generate more room nights in local hotels, spur new private investments and create 35 full-time positions and 50 part-time positions in the first year of operation.
Conference Center Dining Room Expansion Project:
USA Niagara is currently planning the build-out of 5,000 additional square feet of space to meet additional meeting and dining space demand. The Conference Center will be a more versatile, attractive and marketable facility that meets greater customer demand and will benefit downtown business operators with increased business and foot traffic.
This project is scheduled to be completed during summer 2006.
