Description:
The USA Niagara Development Corporation (USAN), a subsidiary of the New York State Urban Development Corporation d/b/a Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) is seeking a qualified Demolition Contractor to undertake the former Wintergarden Demolition Project, located at 304 Rainbow Boulevard in downtown Niagara Falls, NY, comprising a single land parcel with an area of approximately 0.6 acres and approximately 29,000 square feet of ground-level building area. The property and premises consist of a single, eight-story-high, fully glazed structure. The property was acquired by USAN for the purposes of razing the structure to restore the street/public right-of-way upon which the structure is currently situated. The former Wintergarden is adjoined on the south by an existing hotel property and on the north by the Rainbow Centre Shopping Mall (currently vacant with the exception of a single seasonal operation in a space at the southwest corner of the shopping mall). The work will consist of asbestos abatement, demolition of the former Wintergarden in its entirety with the legal off-site disposal of all debris as directed by the USAN and appropriate regulatory agencies, and façade restoration on structures currently adjoining the former Wintergarden.

A Pre-Bid meeting will be held on March 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM at USAN offices, 222 First Street, 7th Floor, Niagara Falls, NY.
ESDC’s Non-Discrimination and Affirmative Action policies will apply to this contract. Consultant shall be required to use its best efforts to achieve Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) participation of not less than 10% of the total dollar value of the contract. M/WBEs are encouraged to respond.
Minority Sub-Contracting Goal: 5%
Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 5%
